Kate Conklin, MS, CHC, CPHQ, CPMSM, CPCS, FMSP, is the Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer for GI Alliance. GI Alliance is a physician owned and led Management Company for a nationwide network of gastroenterology specialists.
Kate has over 25 years of experience in leading healthcare regulatory/accreditation programs, medical staff governance, quality, and patient safety. Prior to joining GI Alliance as Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer, Kate served as the Compliance and Privacy Officer for Steward Healthcare’s South Division and as the Chief Compliance Officer for the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, a large academic institution in Dallas. Kate has also served as Senior Vice President of Professional Affairs and Ethics & Compliance at an HCA hospital in the North Texas Division.
Kate also stays active in several professional associations including the National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) where she served as the organization’s president in 2011; the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) and the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ). Kate regularly speaks on transformative leadership concepts and skills to sustain an ethical workforce culture – drawing on her own experience in moving through the ranks of leadership.
Kate holds an undergraduate degree in Healthcare Administration from American-InterContinental University in Chicago and a Master of Science Degree in Healthcare Ethics and Regulatory Leadership from the University of Denver. Kate also holds professional certifications in Healthcare Compliance, Healthcare Quality and Medical Staff Services Management.
