Veta Gayle is a trailblazer in the healthcare industry. She brings over thirty years of experience and a passion for excellence to her role as a leader and administrator.
Her journey began in clinical settings, where she honed her skills and deepened her understanding of patient care. However, Veta's ambitions extended beyond the bedside. She fervently pursued higher education, earning her Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and General Management from the Metropolitan College of New York.
After receiving her CPC, she became the Director of Medical Staff Services and Centralized Credentialing Services at the Carillon Clinic Hospital System in Roanoke, Virginia. She managed operations across seven hospitals, demonstrating her exceptional organizational prowess and leadership capabilities, which have been crucial in ensuring the smooth functioning of these healthcare facilities.
Veta's journey led her to the prestigious Children's National Medical Center in the District of Columbia, where she assumed the role of Director of Medical Staff Services (MSS) and Credentialing Verification Organization (CVO). In this capacity, she oversees a vast network of 1400 providers, ensuring the highest quality and compliance standards.
Veta's contributions to the healthcare community extend beyond her day-to-day responsibilities. She is a respected figure in professional organizations, having served as the president of the Virginia Association of Medical Staff Services (VAMSS) and earning the distinction of being the first African American/Black to hold a position as an Instructor in the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS). Her leadership in these roles has been instrumental in shaping the future of healthcare.
Veta has remained committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare leadership throughout her career. As a mother of two daughters, she serves as a role model within her family, community, and industry, inspiring future generations to pursue their dreams with determination and resilience
