John Pastrano, a native Houstonian, has 30 years of credentialing experience which includes hospital, managed care and CVO settings with oversight responsibilities of medical staff affairs, processing of pre-applications, initial and reappointment applications, standardization of privileges and Focused Professional Practice Evaluations (FPPE) and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE). John earned a Bachelor Business Administration from the University of Houston – Clear Lake and maintains both NAMSS certifications of CPMSM and CPCS. John’s past work experience also includes being an Intermittent Consultant for Joint Commission Resources.

John served as President for the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) in 2014 and continues to serve as a mentor sharing his passion of experiences and knowledge in credentialing. John believes that life and work balance is an essential part of living. His passion is learning about different cultures and loves to travel with his favorite being the safaris taken in Africa. John loves spending time with his family, friends and his 2 dogs, Tino and Spencer. His mantra is that everyone should provide a positive outlook in life, even with our own struggles, as each of decides our destiny.
