Mastering Excellence: New to Practice Advanced Practice Professional Training Program

Session Description: Health First has recognized the need to address the limited training and experience of certain graduates in the inpatient realm, particularly in the context of the exponential increase in APP's and the potential impact on patient safety and quality. To ensure patient safety and quality are adequately protected Health First has implemented an APP Train Up Plan. This plan aims to establish a safe and effective training process that enhances the capabilities and competencies of APP's who have limited or no training in specific clinical areas or inpatient experience. The objective of the train up plans is to provide these providers with the necessary training and preceptorship to meet the requisite competency standards. By doing so, Health First aims to bridge the gap in their knowledge and skills, enabling them to deliver safe and effective care in the inpatient setting. Health First has undertaken a comprehensive approach to this train up plan, recognizing the importance of adequately preparing APPs to their roles. Through this initiative, Health First is committed to ensuring that patient safety and quality remain at the forefront while providing opportunities for APPs to gain the necessary competencies through training and preceptorship.
