Session Description: NCQA has driven improvement throughout the healthcare system for over 35 years. Recently through interviews with more than 70 organizations and industry experts, NCQA found significant changes in the industry. As a result of these findings, NCQA has recommended updates to the credentialing category of Health Plan Accreditation, Credentialing accreditation standards and Credentialing Verification Organization (CVO) Certification. If you fall into these categories, you need to know what these changes are and how they impact mitigating risk at your organization. This session will address not only the changes in the NCQA standards, but the “why” behind those changes and the value they bring to your organization. These changes are not as scary as they may appear, and the time frames are not the only change. With the experience of Chartis/Greeley on process improvement and adapting to change, and the knowledge of NCQA on accreditation standards, this team will help you learn how to meet the new expectations and when you will be held to these new standards.
Learning Objectives:
Identify the changes in the NCQA standards relating to:
- CVO Certification
- Health Plan Accreditation – credentialing
- Credentialing overall
Understand the why behind these changes and how they incentivize quality.
