Session Description: NAMSS Ideal Credentialing Standards (ICS) are an essential tool for credentialing new applicants. ICS is the best practice guideline for initial practitioner credentialing. The session will also review primary source verification required in the ICS. Session will have the ICS document as a handout along with scenarios of different applicants and how would the MSP handle such situations or what would be required. Application questions will also be discussed and how the MSP can revise those questions within their health care organization.
Learning Objectives:
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Ideal Credentialing Standards and how to apply them on a day-to-day basis on new applications.
List primary sources for each of the 13 elements for the Ideal Credentialing Standards.
Conduct audit of completed initial credentialing applications utilizing the 13 elements of the Ideal Credentialing Standards.
